The Rams have secured the signing of defenders Sam Holt and Michael Fitzgerald.

31-year-old Sam Holt (pictured left) joins Rammy from Darwen FC. The centre-back has already established himself within the squad throughout pre-season.

Sam told us that he is “happy now and once I had spoken with manager Lee Donafee there was only one club where I wanted to play this season”.

Sam also spoke with new man Leon Creech before coming to the Rams and was told what an amazing club Ramsbottom are. He is a real leader in the heart of the defence and he will make a massive impact in every game that he plays this year.

Rammy have also been able to bring back defender Michael Fitzgerald. The 18-year-old was a massive player for the Rams last season and he’ll certainly be hoping to make an impact again this campaign.

Fitzgerald joins Ramsbottom from Blackpool FC and said, “it’s good to be settled into the team already and hopefully we’ll have a good start to the season. I am looking to play as many games as possible and to finish as high up as possible”.

Fitzgerald has played a large part of the pre-season in midfield which just illustrates his versatility.
