Ramsbottom United Football Club are delighted to announce that they are teaming up with Turfcote Nursing Home in Haslingden to spread a little festive cheer over the upcoming Christmas period.

Turfcote has many residents who are living with Alzheimer’s disease and, as this is an issue that is very close to many of us at the football club, we are planning a gift donation drive over the next few weeks.

After liaising with staff at Turfcote, we have been given a list of residents and the gifts that they would like and this is where you, our wonderful Ramsbottom United fan base, can help out.

If you would like to contribute, we will be taking the names of supporters and pairing them up with the residents, starting with the home game against Widnes on 13 November. Ahead of this game and the next few home matches, we will be present at the turnstiles and around the ground to make arrangements for this.

The gifts are low in cost but will mean so very much to those receiving them. Items include toiletries, chocolates, books, dolls, CDs and word search/puzzle books.

We know from past experience with last years’ food bank collection that we have a most generous fan base at The Harry Williams Riverside Stadium and that you will, as ever, be more than happy to help us in supporting this.

Not only will it be a good reflection of Ramsbottom United Football Club but more importantly it will bring a smile to the faces of those receiving the gifts on Christmas morning.

Thank you for your support.
