‘Ramsbottom’s Revolutionary Doctor’ is local author Nigel Jepson’s new book, which is a follow-up on a local theme to his history of Ramsbottom United, ‘Come on You Rams’, published last December.

His interest for this book was sparked after noting the blue plaque above the door of 18 Bolton Street (now the premises of John the Jeweller’s), which pays testimony to the brief, but highly eventful life of Peter Murray McDouall.

Nigel is launching this book at Ramsbottom Cricket Club on Sunday 5 December from twelve o’clock midday till two o’clock when it will be available for a reduced price of £10. Refreshments will be available.

The author has kindly offered to donate £5 from each book sold to Ramsbottom Pantry so please go along and buy a copy… it will make a great Christmas present for anybody interested in the life and times of Ramsbottom and also help support our excellent local charity.

For any Rammy supporters who haven’t yet bought a copy of Come on You Rams we will have the last remaining few on sale at this launch with proceeds going to the club.
