Ramsbottom United are delighted to announce the signing of attacking-midfielder Jack Grimshaw.

The 21-year-old joins the club from fellow Northern Premier League side, Newcastle Town.

Grimshaw began his career at Wolves before moving to Port Vale and progressing through their scholarship programme and into the club’s reserve team.

He has several non-league clubs under his belt, playing for FC United of Manchester, Prescot Cables, Skelmersdale United and Macclesfield.

Upon signing for the club Grimshaw said: “I’m looking forward to being at the club. As the last couple of seasons have been different with the league being null and voided.

“I’ve made sure to train and stay ready now we’re back playing.

“After training on Tuesday and Thursday, I’m now aiming to have a successful season at Ramsbottom.”

Rams manager Lee Donafee commented on the signing: “I have been after him for 3 years – he is a hard-working lad who I tried to sign a while ago but he wanted to stay loyal to Skem.

“He then went to Macclesfield as big things were happening there.  I wasn’t going to sign him but I know him and he said that I was the only manager with who he knew he could work.

“He is travelling from the Midlands to come and play for us.”

Jack is eligible to face 1874 Northwich this afternoon.

Welcome to Rammy Jack!
