Ramsbottom United are delighted to confirm the signing of winger Billy Hasler-Cregg.

The 25-year-old joins the club after leaving Jon Macken’s Colne FC.

Hasler-Cregg started at Burnley before moving to Rochdale as a scholar, he also signed his first professional deal at the club in 2015.

Whilst at Spotland, he had loans spells at Droylsden and Altrincham, before moving to the latter permanently.

He’s also spent time at Stalybridge and Congleton Town before joining Colne in 2019.

Upon signing for the club Hasler-Cregg said: “The manager’s interest and keenness in signing me was a real confidence boost knowing that I was wanted by him.

“Having played against Rammy a number of times over the years, I know they have a supportive fan base who make lots of noise and gets behind the team.

Billy is no stranger to some in the Rams squad, he played with Tom Kennedy during his time at Rochdale, and with Domaine Rouse at Droylsden.

He wants to make a good impression on his debut, concluding: “I want to enjoy playing my football and put in good performances each week.

“I’m hoping that through this I can help the team get those much needed and deserved wins and give everyone an enjoyable last few months of the season”

Rams boss Lee Donafee added: “Delighted to have brought Billy to Ramsbottom.

“Once I was aware he was available I knew if we could get him in he would add quality and experience to the squad.

“He is a player I have tried to bring in previously and when against us has caused problems.

“Having spoken at length with him I believe this could be a great move for both billy and the club moving forward.”

Hasler-Cregg is eligible for the game against Widnes on Tuesday evening.
