A big thank you to all Rammy fans who turned up at the ground on Saturday 5th December for the ‘Story of Ramsbottom United’ book launch.

The original idea had been to make the occasion coincide with a home match but it wasn’t to be in the circumstances! In the event though, such was the turn-out that the club parted with 120 copies on the day. This was very good news, especially bearing in mind that the entire proceeds for the print-run of 200 go directly into club funds.

As well as copies of the book still being available directly from the club, anyone looking for a copy at the present time can also acquire one on-line either from Amazon or Waterstones.

Incidentally, copies were also available at the ‘Hearts for Homes’ gift shop on Bridge Street, Rammy, that is until further lockdown was announced this week!

As author, the informal feedback I’ve had from those who have read the book (let’s face it, there’s little else to do at the moment, is there?!) has been highly encouraging.

By the way, it would be great if anyone who wants to give more formal feedback (hopefully positive!) would be good enough to post a ‘review’ either on the Rammy United website which currently contains just one review – thanks very much for that Frank! Also Amazon hosts a review section. Posting your review (it needn’t be more than a few lines, plus a ‘star rating’) on one or both would help in encouraging others to support the cause!

If the club could reach the target sale of 200, it would be a great achievement.

In these challenging times, it is important to keep celebrating what a great club Rammy United has been, since being founded back in 1966 – and still is!

Very best wishes to you all,
Nigel Jepson
