Following the Rams draw on Tuesday night they now turn their attentions to AFC Liverpool, just a short trip down the East Lancs, where they look to get back to winning ways and begin to move up the table.

Ramsbottom come into this game off the back of a 1-1 draw at home to Barnoldswick, a game that they were extremely unlucky in and one that they should have taken all three points from. However, with games coming thick and fast in this competition we have no time to dwell on that result and we must turn our attentions to the task at hand this weekend.

Saturday’s opposition sit three places below us in the table down in 15th although they have played a game less winning one and losing one, meaning they are one point worse off than the Rams. Both teams will be eager to take a win in this one as it could mean they fly up the league rankings.

AFC Liverpool play their home games at Marine’s ground which is a 4G surface meaning there should be some wonderful football played.

Last time out the team from Liverpool faced off against Lower Breck in the FA Cup where they lost the game 5-0. After such a heavy defeat the hosts will want to bounce straight back with a win so Rammy must be at the top of their game to ensure that it doesn’t happen.

With the way we played on Tuesday night it was definitely two points dropped in our eyes, but up against Barnoldswick who are big strong physical side a lot of people might of seen us losing that last season so that’s definitely something we can take away from it.

I think we were perhaps a little bit unlucky not to come away with three points and especially to be undone by a set piece, it’s frustrating. There were a lot of positives that we can take from that game and we have to dust ourselves down and move onto the next one.

This match is going to be a tough one, they play on a really good 4G pitch and going over to Liverpool is going to make it an even tougher battle. They are a very good side and were extremely impressive last season, they’ve brought a few players in as well and they’ll be certainly looking to stamp their dominance on the game and in the league.

We’ve done our homework and we will go there feeling very positive and in high hopes. Hopefully with the support of the fantastic Rammy fans we will get over the line and get the job done.
