Huge congratulations to goalkeeper Tom Stewart who was named as the ‘Irwell Works Brewery’ Ramsbottom United Player of the Month for March.

Tom played in all six of Rammy’s games throughout the month and is definitely deserving of the award. He has been absolutely vital to the Rams during the course of the whole season, making a number of top class saves this month in particular.

A real stand out moment was his penalty save down in Leek to keep his side in the game, but Stewart has made a number of point blank saves to keep Ramsbottom in games and he’s produced when his team has needed him most. Also, it isn’t just his ability to save shots but how quick he is off his line racing out the box to help his defenders out, being the much needed sweeper keeper.

The Rams number one received his award before the Kendal Town match at the Harry Williams Riverside Stadium from his father Charley and Rams manager Lee Donafee.

Once again congratulations to Tom Stewart who received the trophy and the crate of ales from the Ramsbottom based brewery.
