The North West Counties League Premier Division Player of the Month Award for September 2025 has gone to Jacob Holland-Wilkinson of Ramsbottom United.

This is the first time that he has won this award and the first for Rammy since Grant Spencer won it in April 2012.

Jacob is a Preston North End academy graduate who moved to Stoke City in 2022. After appearances for the Under 21’s there, he moved to Lancaster City upon his release. He joined Bury midway through the 2023/24 season, playing 11 times in the NWCFL. At the start of last season he moved to Chorley where loan spells followed at Widnes and Lancaster, before joining Rammy at the start of this season.

After scoring three times in the opening eight games, he has had a really good September to become a firm fans favourite at The Riverside.

The opening game of the month saw him score after just five minutes against Wythenshawe. A blistering run down the left saw him advance into the box before firing low past the keeper. Seven minutes later he had his second, stroking home a cross from Matt Dudley. The game finished 3-0 with Jacob winning Man of the Match.

Next was another home game against AFC Liverpool where two goals before the break put Rammy in control. Jacob hit the third, a high shot into the roof of the net for the Rams third, before setting up Harvey Hayhurst to fire in the fourth. Rammy won 4-2.

The third game was at home to Stockport Town which Rammy drew 3-3. Jacob set up the first equaliser just before the break for his side, a lovely cross from the left that Tom Walker headed past the keeper. And the fourth goal saw him work hard in a 2-0 win over Burscough.

He was back on the scoresheet in the fifth game of the month, an 8-0 win over Glasshoughton Welfare in the Isuzu FA Vase. Jacob scored the third goal of the game just before half time with a low header, then just after the break rolled a lovely, weighted cross into the path of Matt Dudley for the fourth.

His best game of the month came at Euxton Villa where Rammy won 4-0. Jacob scored three to take home the matchball and also set up the other. His first on 11 minutes was a close range finish and the second three minutes later saw him meet a low cross on the run with another first time finish. He then set up Hayhurst for the third with a lovely pick out in the box before completing his hat-trick on 78 minutes with another composed finish. Unsurprisingly he was named Man of the Match in this game.

The final game of the month was a 3-2 defeat at Irlam. Trailing 2-0, Rammy battled back and levelled things in stoppage time when Jacob chested the ball down from a cross from the right before slotting past the keeper. Unfortunately for Rammy, Irlam hit a winner minutes later.

Jacob played seven games in total, scoring in five of them with eight goals to his name. He also weighed in with two Man of the Match wins and four assists.

Congratulations Jacob!
