Farewell, Trevor

Everyone at Ramsbottom United was saddened to hear of the recent death of our good friend TREVOR JAMES.

Having suffered from dementia over the last couple of years, Trevor passed away having supported the Rams for many years.

He was one of those on a cold Tuesday in January 2019, who made the long journey down to Weymouth in the FA Trophy, returning early next morning, joyously celebrating one of the Rams finest victories.

Ahead of the next round game, at home to AFC Fylde, Trevor, along with the club photographer Frank Crook, was interviewed live on BBC television looking ahead to what proved to be an incredible match.

Not only did Trevor follow the Rams home and away, he was often down at the ground during the week, helping out in whatever way he could.

A true supporter of the Rams, his other interest was Speedway Racing, and he would regularly watch the Belle Vue Aces.

He will be remembered by many fellow supporters, always willing to have a chat, and his presence at matches will be sorely missed.
