DUNN BACK IN THE DUGOUT

Popular physio returns to the Rams after a stint at Atherton Collieries.

We are delighted to announce that Tony Dunn has returned to Ramsbottom United to reprise his role as our club physiotherapist.

Heading back to the Riverside following a stint at Atherton Collieries, Tony can’t wait to get back going again and meet up with his many old friends in and around the club.

“Wilkesy gave Michael Clegg a call a couple of weeks ago and asked about my availability for this upcoming season,” said Dunn.

“I was in a position where I couldn’t give Atherton Collieries the 100% commitment needed at that level and also to the travelling that is required due to work commitments and family life.

“I’d already had a few requests for my services, but for me, I felt there was unfinished business at Ramsbottom United since leaving in 2023 and after chats with Wilkesy, Phil Rose and Teaguey, and the changes in place at the club, it was a perfect fit for what I wanted and needed in football.

“I know the fabric of the club inside and out, and want to play my part this season into getting the club back up into the NPL where it really belongs.

“I’m really looking forward to getting going and meeting some old familiar faces back at the Harry Williams Riverside Stadium. COYR!!!”

Manager Steve Wilkes was equally excited to have Tony back in the Rammy dugout.

“At any club the physio is an integral part of the back room staff,” said Wilkes.

“I’ve always said physios are more important than a manager as I can’t get a player fit and back on the pitch. In Tony Dunn, we’ve got one of the best in the business!

“I can’t explain how pleased I am to have a physio with Tony’s experience and the fact he knows the club inside out is also a massive plus, it’s great to have him back!”

Welcome back to Rammy, Tony!
