Dominic’s rise through the ranks

The latest addition to Manager Rob Henry’s First team squad is local midfield player Dominic Filidoro.

Dominic began playing at Ramsbottom as a six year old, although his career almost ended before it began. As a shy youngster, he refused to join in at the first session for 6 year olds, asking to go home, but intervention from the coach finally persuaded him to join in, and twelve years later he has signed First Team forms.

Dominic’s rise through the Rams thriving Junior set-up saw him play for the Under 18s at 16 years of age, and this season has seen him take on the role of team captain, in a side playing some excellent football.

Over the years, he has also turned out for Bolton School, from the Under 12s through to his last two years in the school’s First Team, which, two years ago, won the final of the Bolton Schools Competition, the first trophy won by the school’s rather emotional coach, after many years of trying!

As well as playing for the various Ramsbottom United Junior teams, Dominic has also been a mascot as well as a supporter at the Harry Williams Riverside Stadium and will now look to establish himself as an integral member of Rob’s squad.
