Looking to avenge a disappointing 4-2 loss earlier in the season, Rammy Women put in another strong performance against a top-3 team and were unlucky to be denied all 3 points right at the end.

The first half was end to end with both teams creating chances, but none of which challenged the keepers. The Ewes battled well throughout and in the 36th minute their persistence paid off when Woods played a lovely through ball to Duffy who calmly slotted it past the keeper into the bottom right corner to give them the lead. An off the ball incident towards the end of the first half resulted in a player for each team being sent off and, after a lengthy pause, the game continued with 10-a-side.

Both teams played some attractive passing football in the second half but continued to cancel each other out with the keepers busy but rarely really tested. Rammy looked to have held firm long enough to secure the win but a suckerpunch came with less than a minute left on the clock. A powerful Leigh strike from the edge of the box snuck into the bottom right corner so The Ewes had to settle for one point instead of the three that had seemed likely.
