The Ewes put in what was undoubtedly their best performance of the season so far when they held league-leaders Tiki Taka Bolton to a 2-2 draw. Tiki Taka had played 6 and won 6 (1-0 against Rammy in the first game of the season followed by four 5-1 wins and a 6-1 win) whilst Rammy had just one win and a draw to their name.

The Rammy defence dealt with early pressure from Tiki Taka well before creating their first chance in the 13th minute when Sharples’ well taken shot went agonisingly just over the bar.

Apart from a few half-opportunities for The Ewes, the rest of the first half saw them battle hard in midfield and deal with multiple Tiki Taka advances. To the credit of the whole team, none of those advances bore fruit and the half ended goal-less.

HT 0-0

Tiki Taka broke the deadlock four minutes into the second half with a goal from close-range, after which followed a period of end-to-end football with both ‘keepers kept busy without being massively tested. In the 65th minute the Ewes were awarded a freekick just outside the box which Duffy stepped up to take. Her low freekick breached the wall and, although well-positioned, the Tiki Taka keeper couldn’t prevent the ball going in and Rammy were level!

11 minutes later Rammy took the lead when a long ball from Simpson was knocked into the path of Woods. She controlled the ball beautifully and unleashed an unstoppable strike into the top left corner from well outside the box.

Tiki Taka equalised just 3 minutes later with their own strike into the top left corner. With time still left on the clock, both teams pushed hard for a winner but in the end it was honours even at 2-2.
