After three away games in a row, The Ewes were back at home and back in league action, this time against Leigh Genesis.

The first half was an end to end affair with both keepers kept busy and, despite the lack of goals, the healthy crowd was treated to an excellent display of football from both sides.

The second half was altogether different with six goals scored in all. The first goal came within five minutes of the restart when Leigh scored from a corner, but Rammy evened things up only a few minutes later with a goal of their own. Rachel Todd played a well weighted ball for Rachel Roberts to run onto, Roberts got the better of two defenders, taking the ball into the box and flicking it sideways into the path of Gemma Hodcroft who made no mistake in burying it in the net (pictured above).

Soon after Nicole Duffy had forced an excellent save from the Leigh keeper in the 56th minute, Leigh breached the Rammy defence to take the lead again and then quickly grabbed a third after a mix-up at the back. For the next fifteen minutes Rammy battled hard to get back in the game but after chances at both ends Leigh took advantage of some defensive indecision to score their fourth of the match.

For the remainder of the game Rammy kept Leigh at bay and created multiple chances, culminating in a fantastic, if consolatory, goal two minutes from time. Fran Sharples judged a Leigh goalkick well to play the ball to Nicole Duffy who turned and put a fabulous ball into the box which was met by the head of the onrushing Vic Westerman.

Despite a promising performance, to which the scoreline did not do justice, the team will have to wait a little longer to get their first league win.
